Which Frosted Decal Is Right for You?
Each frosted decal option offers a different finish and application, making the right choice dependent on the design and intended use. Options range from simple privacy coverage to custom logos, full-color graphics, detailed lettering, and multi-piece designs that use transfer tape for precise placement.
- Blank Frosted Decals for creating privacy coverage across windows and glass panels.
- Die-Cut Frosted Decals for custom-shaped logos and graphics with a clean, finished outline.
- Frosted Lettering for individual text, business names, hours, and simple messaging.
- Frosted Transfer Decals for keeping detailed or multi-piece designs aligned during application.
- Printed Frosted Decals for adding full-color artwork, branding, or messaging to frosted vinyl.
- Reverse Cut Frosted Decals for designs where the frost vinyl surrounds your artwork instead of filling it.
Compare Color and Print Appearance
Color can look different depending on the print option you choose. Transparent printing creates a lighter, more subtle appearance by allowing the frosted background to remain visible through the printed colors. Adding white ink behind the printed areas creates a more opaque base, giving colors a brighter, bolder, and more defined appearance.
Compare Front and Back Appearance
If your decal will be seen from both sides of the glass, consider how you want the design to appear from each side. Transparent printing allows the colors and design to remain visible from the reverse side, while adding white ink behind the printed areas creates a more solid appearance with less visibility from the back.
All of our frosted decals are made from non-laminated frosted vinyl and have an estimated outdoor lifespan of 3–5 years. Print options that affect color and opacity are available for Die-Cut and Printed Frosted Decals only.

Tips for a Smooth Application
While application methods vary slightly depending on the frosted decal product you choose, we recommend using a wet application method for all frosted decals. Frosted vinyl is a little less forgiving than standard vinyl, so the added slip makes positioning easier and helps achieve a smooth, bubble-free finish. Always start with a clean glass surface free of dust, fingerprints, and other debris for the best adhesion.
Most frosted decals apply directly to the glass, while frosted lettering and frosted transfer decals use transfer tape to keep individual design elements aligned during installation. Once positioned, use a squeegee to remove the application fluid and any trapped air for a clean, professional-looking result.
