Reverse Cut Frosted Decals
Reverse Cut Frosted Decals provide a distinctive way to incorporate logos, lettering, and custom artwork into frosted glass applications. Instead of forming the design with vinyl, the artwork is precision cut out of the frosted material, allowing the clear glass to show through while the surrounding area remains frosted. Custom produced from durable frosted vinyl, they’re well suited for storefronts, office doors, conference rooms, partitions, and other glass projects requiring a clean, professional finish without permanently modifying the glass.

Reverse Transfer-Cut Decals (NEED TO CHANGE IMAGE)
Reverse Transfer-Cut
Reverse cut means we cut your design into the frosted vinyl material and then remove the portions that make up your artwork, leaving the surrounding frosted vinyl intact. We then apply a transfer tape over the remaining frosted material, which holds the entire design together once the paper backing is removed. This transfer tape allows the reverse cut decal to be positioned and installed cleanly and evenly on your glass surface, ensuring the clear cut-out areas remain perfectly aligned within the frosted background.
* Vector File (EPS or Ai – Adobe Illustrator) format needed for Transfer Cut stickers. *
Transfer Cut / Pick Charge
Transfer cut price includes 6 standard picks with a Maximum of 25 picks per decal.
Additional picks are $0.04 per pick depending on difficulty/intricacy.
Intricately cut decals will be custom quoted based on difficulty and time required to pick.
For more information check out our transfer cut guidelines.
Every decal is produced using high-precision digital cutting equipment designed for exceptional accuracy. To account for normal manufacturing tolerances, the cut path may vary by up to 0.2% of the artwork's longest dimension. When possible, we recommend including adequate bleed and avoiding extremely thin borders to ensure the best finished appearance.

Artwork Requirements
Files that print best are:
File Requirements
- Set up to file to the size you’re ordering the product as.
- Cut line is indicated with a vector stroke line. Pink is the preferred color.
- All decal files require a minimum of 1/16" bleed.
- Convert all text to outlines.
- Make sure no elements are selected for "Overprint"
*We recommend choosing rich black (100-100-100-100) over CMYK (0-0-0-100). Rich black is true black — it has a less charcoal gray appearance *
We print in four color CMYK or six color CMYKLcLm. Please keep this in mind when submitting files for printing as color tone shifting may happen if file is submitted in RGB format. If there is a specific PMS color you need, please specify that to us when submitting your order so we can help you verify that the proper color mix is used (vector artwork only).
Customer supplied files are printed as they are received so we cannot guarantee color, clarity or final output as we are just printing the supplied files and have not set them up for printing.
If you are concerned about the file output we will be happy to do a test print for a nominal fee prior to final order if requested.
All our printers are calibrated daily to International Color Consortium (ICC) coloring profile standards to ensure accurate color production.

More About Reverse Cut Frosted Decals
Reverse Cut Frosted Decals use the surrounding frosted vinyl to create contrast, leaving logos, lettering, patterns, and other design elements visible through the exposed glass. This format works well for bold branding, decorative patterns, borders, and directional graphics across storefronts, entry doors, office partitions, reception areas, and other glass applications. Because each decal is custom cut to the supplied artwork, the reverse-cut effect can accommodate everything from oversized logos to repeating patterns and larger installations. The result is a clean, architectural finish that provides the appearance of custom etched or sandblasted glass without permanently altering the surface.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are reverse cut frosted decals, and how do they work?
A: Reverse Cut Frosted Decals are created by cutting a logo, text, or design out of frosted vinyl, allowing the clear glass underneath to show through. The surrounding frosted material creates a clean, etched-glass appearance around the design.
Q: What is the difference between reverse cut frosted decals and frosted lettering?
A: Frosted Lettering uses frosted vinyl to form the letters or graphics themselves. Reverse Cut Frosted Decals create the opposite effect by removing the design from the frosted material, leaving the logo, lettering, or graphic as exposed glass.
Q: Where can reverse cut frosted decals be installed?
A: Reverse Cut Frosted Decals work best on clean, smooth glass surfaces such as storefront windows, office doors, conference rooms, and interior glass walls.
Q: Can reverse cut frosted decals be customized with my own artwork?
A: Yes. Logos, lettering, and custom artwork can be uploaded and precision cut into the frosted vinyl, making it easy to create designs for a variety of branding and decorative applications.
Q: How are reverse cut frosted decals installed?
A: Transfer tape helps keep the cut design properly positioned and aligned during application. Once the decal is applied to the glass, the transfer tape is removed to reveal the finished reverse-cut design.
Q: Can reverse cut frosted decals be used outdoors?
A: Yes. Reverse Cut Frosted Decals are made from durable frosted vinyl suitable for long-term indoor and outdoor glass applications when properly installed and maintained.
